چکیده
Abstract Mannosylerythritol lipids are glycolipid biosurfactants with promising industrial applications. However, their commercial production is hindered due to its high cost. The current study investigates the use of sweetwater, a by-product fat-splitting industry in combination soybean oil for mannosylerythritol using Pseudozyma antarctica (MTCC 2706). optimum sweetwater and concentration 22% 7% (w/v) yielded 7.52 g L –1 21.5 at shake flask fermenter level respectively. structure functional groups were confirmed by fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC/MS) 1 H- 13 C-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analysis. Surfactant properties, such as surface tension, critical micelle concentration, foaming emulsification also explored.

Mannosylerythritol lipids (MELs) are a glycolipid class of biosurfactants produced by a variety yeast and fungal strains that exhibit excellent interfacial and biochemical properties. MEL-producing fungi were identified using an efficient screening method for the glycolipid production and taxonomical classification on the basis of ribosomal RNA sequences. MEL production is limited primarily to ...

A medium using fish waste as substrate was designed for production of lipase by Enterococcus faecium MTCC 5695 and Pediococcus acidilactici MTCC 11361. Medium components and culture conditions (fish waste protein hydrolysate (FWPH) concentration, fish waste oil (FWO) concentration, pH, temperature, and fermentation time) which affect lipase production were screened using factorial (5 factors ∗ ...

A. flavus produced high levels of invertase under optimized culture conditions on 4 day of th incubation at an optimum pH 5.0, temperature 30°C, inoculum size 3% in Czapek Dox using fruit peel waste as a substrate by SmF. Enhanced production occurred on addition of sucrose and yeast extract as nutritional factors. The enzyme was purified to 5.8 fold with recovery of 3.2% by DEAE-column chromato...
متن کاملRevealing the factors influencing a fermentative biohydrogen production process using industrial wastewater as fermentation substrate
BACKGROUND Biohydrogen production through dark fermentation using organic waste as a substrate has gained increasing attention in recent years, mostly because of the economic advantages of coupling renewable, clean energy production with biological waste treatment. An ideal approach is the use of selected microbial inocula that are able to degrade complex organic substrates with simultaneous bi...
